Flush Fitting Padeye Installation Guide

Please Note: This is a guide; I.E. diameter etc may need to be adjusted to cater for caulking etc.

Consider placement of padeyes for current and future craft

Position all the padeyes ready to template, the further out the better.

Ensure holes do not line up with caulking.

Mark the padeyes and screw holes onto the deck with a pencil.

Drill 4 pilot holes into the deck using a 3mm drill bit, 1 into each screw hole and one to mark the centre of the padeye.

Use a 13mm drill bit to enlarge the 3 screw holes drilling all the way through the full thickness of the deck.

Flush fitting padeyes require a counter sink to lay flush to the deck.

Use a 80mm hole saw to cut a hole 5mm into the deck

Use a router to cut out the counter sink to an even depth of 5mm

Use a 30mm hole saw to cut a hole right through the deck in the centre of the counter sink

Rotate the metal head of the snap toggle and push it right through the deck then pull up the plastic straps to position it flush to the underside of the deck ensuring they are not visible through the centre hole.

Draw the slider down and break off the plastic straps as close to the deck as possible.

Add a layer of mastik around the edge of the countersink.

Align the screw holes before you insert the padyeye

Squeeze a little mastik into each screw hole as sealant

Fix the padeyes in place with M6 bolts using a 4mm allen key.

Your padeye is now fitted, repeat the above to fit the remaining padeyes.

Ensure the mastik is dry before first use.
